Pit Sandbox is a PvPvE arena gamemode on Harry's Network. Players fight bots, AI bosses and each other in an open arena, earn gold and XP, and invest them in a deep progression system.

Overview[edit]

Players drop into an open arena map and fight bots, bosses and other players. The game revolves around kill streaks: every kill without dying raises your rewards, but also makes you a bigger target. Kills give gold and XP, which you spend on upgrades, killstreaks, enchanting and more.

At level 120 you can prestige. Prestiging resets your level but awards Renown and Mastery Points and permanently unlocks new content. Deeper progression opens whole new systems: megastreaks, the Mastery Tree, boss hunting, the alternate dimension Xaroth, the Riftwalker challenge, trinkets, perks and much more.

The current prestige cap is 85. Each prestige needs far more XP than the last: early prestiges are quick, but endgame prestiges need hundreds of billions of XP. Every 5 prestiges your name gets a new prestige colour, so anyone in the lobby can see how far you have come.

Map layout[edit]

Every map has two zones, and many mechanics care about which one you are in.

Spawn[edit]

Spawn is a safe zone: you cannot deal or take damage there. It holds the NPCs, shops, upgrade menus, the Mystic Well and other utility features.

The Pit (mid)[edit]

The Pit, also called mid, is the combat zone: the open arena floor where bots spawn, bosses can be summoned and PvP happens. Leaving spawn for mid is a deliberate choice, because once you are in mid you can be attacked by bots, bosses and players. Many mechanics only work in mid: some enchants only work there, Hermit blocks only count there, and some resource bonuses scale with the number of players in mid.

Other areas[edit]

Some maps also have secondary areas on the outskirts of mid, such as sewers, dig sites and hidden zones, each with its own mechanics.

Key terms[edit]

Bots
AI-controlled enemies that spawn continuously in mid. They are the main source of XP, gold and streak progress. Killing a bot advances your kill streak just like killing a player.
Lucky Bots
Special golden bots that spawn randomly in mid. They drop bonus rewards when killed, and several upgrades and perks interact with them.
Tryhard Bots
Rare, powerful bots that are much harder to kill than normal bots. They wear player-like gear, hit harder and drop valuable loot. Several systems raise their spawn chance. See Tryhard Bot.
Day and night
Every lobby cycles between day and night. A day lasts 30 to 40 minutes and a night 20 to 30 minutes. The Nightmare megastreak revolves around this cycle (buffed at night, speeding up the night during the day), and Night Quests and some Xaroth cards also depend on it.
Night Quests
From Prestige 7, each night gives you one short quest. Finish it before day breaks to earn 10 Night Shards and $10,000. The possible quests are:
  • Kill 300 players (bot kills count)
  • Hit 150 arrow shots
  • Fish up something 30 times
  • Complete 2 streaks above 100 Streak
  • Mine 80 ores
The Pact
An opt-in system tied to Xaroth, unlocked with the Bad Decisions Renown upgrade. While The Pact is active, kills in mid generate Soul Shards, but you can lose your unbanked shards on death and other players can hunt you more easily. Accepting The Pact turns off Divine Protection. The Soulshredder megastreak turns The Pact on automatically.
Launchers
Jump pads and cannons on each map that throw players across the arena. The Renown upgrades Nuclear Launch (twice the speed) and Apollo (aim where you are looking) improve them.

The core progression loop[edit]

Progression follows one loop: kill things → earn gold and XP → spend gold to get stronger → level up → prestige → unlock new systems → repeat.
