Marcus is an NPC in spawn who upgrades Diamond Armor and sells useful items through the Shopkeeper. Talking to Marcus for the first time counts towards the "Talk to Core NPCs" objective for new players.

Armor Upgrades[edit]

Beginner's Armor: a free, unbreakable Protection I diamond helmet, chestplate and boots, put into your inventory. It can be claimed at any time.
Protection upgrades: raise the Protection level of the Diamond Armor you are wearing, up to Protection VII. Each level needs a higher prestige. See Diamond Armor for prices.
Chestplate abilities: from Prestige 24, right-click the chestplate in this menu (Protection IV or higher) to add Counter-Offensive, Fabric of Divinity or Remarkable Resilience. See Diamond Armor.

Opened with the Shopkeeper button in Marcus's menu.

Boost Egg	$50,000	Right-click to heal 3❤ and get Regeneration IV for 10 seconds; the Regeneration ends if you are hit. 20 second cooldown. The Renown upgrade Old Dog, New Tricks adds a left-click ability.
UsefulBox	$10,000	Opens the main NPC menus from anywhere.
64 Obsidian	$5,000	Obsidian blocks you can place. The stack refills as you place it, and placed blocks disappear after about 2 minutes.
Convenient Compass	$15,000	Points you to any NPC outside spawn.
Snow Pickaxe	$96,000	Efficiency XX pickaxe for breaking placed obsidian, with a chance to break nearby placed obsidian too.
Moon Stone	16 emeralds	Used to buy Earth Stones, Counter-Offensive and some Miner items.
Earth Stone	4 Moon Stones	Used in the Enfuser and to buy Empty Blood Stones.
Empty Blood Stone	16 Earth Stones	Used in some Miner purchases.
